BIG FREEDIA

THE QUEEN OF NEW ORLEANS BOUNCE

Nicole Balin has represented Big Freedia since their first meeting in 2010, building a long-standing partnership that has helped expand the artist’s presence far beyond the music world. Following Freedia’s national television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2012—secured by Ballin PR—her profile rose rapidly and has continued to evolve across entertainment, culture, and lifestyle.

Under Nicole’s guidance, Big Freedia has been featured in leading national and international outlets including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Paper Magazine, and Elle Decor, reflecting a strategic positioning that extends her influence beyond music into broader cultural and lifestyle conversations.

Nicole also co-wrote Big Freedia’s memoir, God Save the Queen Diva! (Simon & Schuster), and led publicity and partnership strategy for brand collaborations, including the launch of Ben & Jerry’s limited-edition “Booty Poppin’ Beignets” ice cream flavor.

Their creative collaboration continues today, with a forthcoming children’s book currently in development and scheduled for publication by Penguin Random House in 2027.

God Save the Queen Diva! (Gallery Books/Simon & Schuster) is the memoir that chronicles the life of a poor choir boy from New Orleans who survived poverty, drugs, and bullying to become a world famous musical performer and reality TV personality. Channeling his pain through the music and culture of Bounce, Big Freedia is a icon for gender bending youth and is credited for bringing the “twerk” mainstream.

The reviews are saying…

“On her show, Freedia comes off as affable and grateful — belying her diva persona — and these traits are only solidified and expanded in the book.”
