SF Design Week Celebrates 20 Years
Ballin PR is proud to be representing SF Design Week, a Bay Area festival that Became a Global Blueprint. Two decades ago, San Francisco Design Week (SFDW) launched as a local gathering. Today, it stands as the global blueprint for how design and technology intersect. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary from June 1–12, SFDW returns with a vibrant reboot, a fresh energy, and a timely theme: Plurality.
Under the leadership of Design Bay Area co-founder, Dawn Zidonis—one of the key architects behind the Bay Area’s creative renaissance—the 2026 edition explores how a multitude of voices, disciplines, and technologies are shaping a more inclusive future.
“Twenty years ago, San Francisco Design Week began as a celebration of the Bay Area’s creative spirit and the power of many. Today, it stands as a reminder that design still has that power to connect communities, spark innovation, and shape the future,” says Dawn Zidonis. “As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also looking ahead to what’s next — because the future started here.”
This year’s programming features heavyweights from the tech and design sectors, offering a friendly, accessible look at the tools and ethics defining our era:
